"The Fire Within" is the debut album of the one-man Black Metal project known as Sorin. The album's concept is based around a major black magic ritual performed by Aleister Crowley in 1909. The ritual is said to have summoned a demon known as Choronzon into Crowley's own body. The first movement of the album is comprised of five parts: A preliminary invocation, and a call to four spirits that correspond with the four elements. The next track, "NOX", meaning 'night' in Latin, is a banishing ritual Crowley used. "The Law of Light" is a prayer of exorcism used in the ritual and the song's lyrics were written by Crowley. The song "ZAX" is another part of the ritual said to open a portal to hell. The final track is the resolution to the ritual, and was designed to the put the listener into a meditative state.
